LTA Safeguarding Strategy 2021-2023
Mandatory training : all Committee members
The LTA has launched a new introductory course entitled ‘Safeguarding Training for Committees’ which takes the form of a short video and knowledge quiz.
The aim of the course is to provide key safeguarding information and messages to those on committees who would otherwise not receive safeguarding training, as they do not have regular roles working with children or adults at risk.
The training is designed to provide an overview of safeguarding in tennis, to highlight how concerns should be raised, what support is available, and practical tips to support Welfare or Safeguarding Officers to promote a safer place to play.
Training is required every two years for the full Committee, and within three months of appointment of new Committee members. This forms part of the criteria on which our Club is assessed against venue and county Safeguarding Standards.

You may find these training guidance notes helpful.

Note: Due to continued lockdown restrictions this first training session will be held virtually with a follow up safeguarding session on the next committee agenda.
How long does the training take?
The video runs for just over eight minutes and the knowledge test less than ten minutes
Once you have watched the video, complete the Safeguarding Knowledge Quiz, save your document and return via email to helen.h.harman@hotmail.com or hand it to Helen at Club night.

We would appreciate it if you could complete this training as soon as possible please.
If you have any concerns or questions relating to safeguarding or the training itself, please let Helen know.
